Bakfickan ( In Central Stockholm )

 
 A real little gem for its many regular customer, including artists from the nearby opera house. Bakfickan is for those looking for a quick bite eat. The bar menu consists of Swedish  ”home -cooked” specials, along with a selection of open sandwiches. more complex meals are also available. It open from Mondays to Saturdays. Nalen ( In Central Stockholm )

 
 formerly the Grand National, this restaurant now has the same name as the jazz club around the corner. The food is traditional Swedish using the best local ingredients such as reindeer, bleak roe and cloud-berries. Since mathias Nordin became the new head chef, it can difficult to get a table, so book ahead. It opens from Mondays to Saturdays. It is at Regeringsgatan 74, Stockholm 11139. Operakällaren (In Central Stockholm)  

The capital’s classic temple of gastronomy. the chefs are innovative, the dining room with its lavish 19th -century ceiling paintings and the Jugendstil bar are attractions in themselves. Rolfs Kök

This little modern restaurant combines an informal atmosphere with excellent Swedish-French Cuisines at reasonable prices. The lamb is usually a good bet, as are the stir-fried Asian dishes. It is at Tegnérgatan 41, Stockholm. Telephone 08-101696.

 

Wasahof

Well-known with newspaper reporters, copywriters, and advertising types, Wasahof is noted for its friendly, bistro-like atmosphere. It offers a tasty menu, its specialties including oysters and snails. It is at DAlagatan 46. Telephone : 08-323440.

 

Open Gate

Close to the Slussen locks, on the south side of Stockholm Harbor, this trattoria offers cheap pasta which is its specialty. It is at Högbersgatan 40. Telephone : 08-6439976.

 

Restaurang Diana

You’ll dine in an atmospheric Gamla Stan cellar dating from the Middle Ages. This cozy restaurant uses the best indigenous products from the Swedish forest and shoreline.
